Part 1. How to Stream Tidal on Rekordbox Online
Rekordbox will import these SoundCloud music files into its own collection and add the track data and waveforms after you choose the SoundCloud music songs and playlists you want to add to Rekordbox. Except for uploading SoundCloud tracks into Rekordbox from iTunes, you could also transfer SoundCloud tracks to Rekordbox from hard drive.
Can you use Tidal with Rekordbox? This is no longer a myth. With the native integration of Tidal Rekordbox, Tidal's catalog with over 60 million songs and thousands of expertly curated playlists is available for you to stream, on condition that you have a Tidal Premium or HiFi subscription.
Rekordbox is a very intuitive Tidal DJ app packed with a multitude of powerful features. Among other apps compatible with Tidal, Rekordbox takes lead owing to the special effect library as well as the visual effects. The music and visuals can be optimally synced to give the best DJing experience possible. TIDAL and rekordbox allow users to access playlists, albums, and tracks saved in My Collection — all from inside rekordbox.
Launch the Rekordbox software, and you will see a bunch of dropdowns on the left column. Select Tidal, click Log in button, and log in with your Tidal account, and that will connect Tidal to Rekordbox for you automatically.
Once logged in, you can browse My Collection – including playlists, albums, and tracks saved in your Tidal account – from inside Rekordbox. Unfortunately, you don't have control of them in Rekordbox, such as adding or deleting tracks to a certain playlist.
You can also find inspiration from the genres and moods playlists compiled by Tidal and search through the platform's robust music catalog, and then mix it with the files stored in your Rekordbox library. You can even choose whether you want to play Tidal songs in AAC or FLAC format that comes with higher quality.
However, due to Tidal restrictions, you cannot have Rekordbox streaming Tidal offline. Moreover, music distributed by TIDAL can only be used in Rekordbox's Performance mode, but not the Export mode or Link Export mode. And the recording and Capture features are unavailable when tracks from Tidal are playing.
“With TIDAL music streaming gaining popularity I'm wondering whether they would ever bring lossless streaming to DJ software like Traktor, Serato or rekordbox.”
Update Rekordbox
A DJ can play seamless music for hours straight that fits the audience. What’s the best source for DJs to get DJ music? Tidal is the answer! Tidal is a popular music streaming service offering a vast music library with various genres. By signing up as a Tidal member, you have a wide selection of what to mix to match the atmosphere of the DJ events. If you are a Tidal HiFi subscriber, you can even stream Tidal music in lossless CD quality, 4 times the bitrates of the standard audio quality.
The only catch is that there are some annoying limitations on DJ Tidal music. For example, Tidal can be used as a music streaming provider for use with Serato DJ Pro, and it's a rather simple process. However, it requires an active and stable internet connection to play Tidal music tracks in Serato DJ Pro. There may be a sudden stop or distorted sound under unstable data or WiFi.
