Very well known music player (mp3, wav, cd..) outstanding for its ease of use and excellent sound.

As you will no doubt already know, Winamp is a very well known music player principally in MP3 format, that will also play almost all audio formats (mp2, audio CDs, S3M, WAV..). It incorporates multiple functions which can be increased via plug-ins. It takes up little disk space, offers the possibility to play videos and supports ID3.

Although there are newer version of Winamp, for many this second version of Winamp, available as Lite, Standard or Full, continues to be the best. And there are many reasons to think that way. With its plug-in possibilities which are almost unlimited and the skins - which at the time was a new feature to allow users to change the outlook of the player, started a real evolution on the Internet.

This Winamp Full program also had some good features added in that version, such as their brand new (at the time also) mini browser, etc. This program is very easy to download, install and then use, through its friendly and intuitive user interface. Tried 3.x.sucked! Tried 5.x..not bad, but more than I want. I just want something easy and cool to listen to mp3's. But, I don't use 2.91, I use 2.81, last 'good' 2.x version. After 2.81, if you are running WinAmp, and run any program that changes screen resolutions (games, etc), when you exit back to your desktop, WinAmp is in the middle of your screen, it won't stay docked where you left it. This is a bug from 2.82 to 5.02. So, pick your favorite plugins, and run 'em in 2.81.

Adds most 'goodies' (library, and video - as plugins) to the Winamp core we all know and love. Video is useless to me, but I like the library feature. Glad to see they still care about the 2.x version.

Winamp 2.80
Excellent program, the loading time is even better then in previous versions it shows that there still is support for 2.xx winamp even though 3.0 is out which is still in beta3 and though it's digital and better sounding than 2.xx still is a bit buggy and takes awhile to load.
To sum it up winamp is the best mp3 player I've used, it's very low on resources too.

the best mp3 player out. simple as that. and its free, and theres no adverts.. an example to many developers on how things should be done
